The Labour Court did not recommend compensation for 11 household staff at the National Maternity Hospital after refurbishment work in an intensive care unit. The recommendation was dated 21 February 1997. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union said hammer-drill noise and dust disrupted the staff’s work during the alterations. The hospital said the work was necessary and reasonable precautions had been taken. The Court considered the parties’ submissions and declined to recommend compensation.
