In 1997, the Labour Court recommended that Fas and the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union meet to agree how Grade 6 posts at Head Office should be allocated, after a dispute over a vacant Staff Development post. The Court found that management had altered the agreed staffing structure without proper consultation, while noting that the permanent Grade 6 headcount was reportedly in line with the agreement. It recommended that the parties discuss and agree the allocation of posts. The recommendation was signed on 6 February 1997.
