The Labour Court found a trainee dispatch clerk’s dismissal by J M H Manufacturing Limited unjustified and recommended two weeks’ pay and a reference better reflecting her work. The recommendation was signed on 21 January 1997. The worker said she was dismissed after management criticised her for wearing an eyebrow ring. The company said she disobeyed an instruction, was verbally abusive and continued that behaviour after a warning.
