The Labour Court recommended that Advance Tyre Limited and the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union meet promptly to discuss plans for the company’s Waterford outlet, after the Court found unfinished business between the parties over the manager’s position. The union said the manager’s position had become untenable and sought a termination package. Advance Tyre said it had made no decision to end her contract and cited problems at the depot. The Court said it was unclear why the working relationship had deteriorated after the depot’s performance worsened. The recommendation was signed on 9 January 1997.
