Labour Court recommends against staff regrading claims at Udaras Na Gaeltachta

In 1997, the Labour Court recommended against conceding Manufacturing, Science, Finance’s claims to regrade eight staff members and restore a job evaluation scheme at Udaras Na Gaeltachta. The union said the staff had taken on additional duties and responsibilities. Udaras said a 1994 staffing agreement had settled grade levels and the claims could have been addressed through an agreement under the Programme for Competitiveness and Work. The Court concluded the claims could have been dealt with under that agreement and could not be conceded because they would increase costs.
