In 1997, the Labour Court recommended that Williams Waller Limited apply to workers facing the closure of its Tullamore office the redundancy settlements it had made to two other employees. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union sought five weeks’ pay per year of service plus statutory entitlements; the company offered three weeks plus statutory entitlements. The Court recommended applying the earlier settlements, including all payments, made to the two employees named in the union’s submission.
