The Labour Court recommended redundancy terms equal to twice the statutory entitlement for Farah Limited employees who did not transfer to Kiltimagh, in a recommendation dated 30 September 1996. It also recommended giving employees who had not opted to transfer another chance if their circumstances had changed. Farah Exports (Ireland) planned to move production from Ballyhaunis to Kiltimagh, with jobs available for staff willing to transfer. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union had sought enhanced terms of four weeks' pay per year of service, plus statutory entitlement.
