In 1996, the Labour Court recommended that An Oige meet with a part-time cleaner to explain her abrupt dismissal and pay her £100 compensation. The recommendation was dated 29 July 1996. The worker said she was dismissed without a reason or explanation. An Oige did not attend the hearing, saying in a letter that it did not believe there was a case to answer. The Court said it had no doubt there was a case to answer and found the dismissal without explanation totally unacceptable.
