The Labour Court said it could not endorse the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union’s claim over working hours and annual leave for three University College Galway library employees. It suggested the College might agree a final cut-off date for the conditions. The recommendation was signed on 29 February 1996. The three had worked 32.5 hours a week and received 42 days’ annual leave, while their stated conditions were 33.75 hours and 40 days. The College decided in 1995 to enforce the contract terms immediately.
