The Labour Court recommended that Ewl Electric Limited find a way to overcome difficulties with deducting union subscriptions at source and introduce the service as soon as possible. The recommendation was signed on 10 January 1996. The dispute followed a request by seven workers who had transferred to the Amalgamated Transport And General Workers Union. The company said its UK-based payroll system required manual work to make deductions for the seven employees.
