Labour Court recommends £100 payment after Dunnes Stores failed to follow its procedures

Labour Court ·

The Labour Court recommended that Dunnes Stores pay £100 to a sales assistant after finding the company had failed to follow its own procedures before dismissing her. The recommendation was signed on 3 January 1996. Mandate, which represented the worker, said she had been diligent and efficient, lacked clear guidance on improving her performance and had not been offered a colleague’s presence at meetings. Dunnes Stores argued that her performance had not improved despite instruction and that she had not met its standards for retail work.
