The Labour Court recommended pro-rata annual leave and public holiday entitlement for Comer International's E-shift workers from the 1996 leave year. The recommendation was signed on 15 December 1995. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union sought entitlements proportionate to those of full-time workers for the 16 workers on the 16-hour Saturday-to-Sunday shift. Comer International said the shift's leave arrangements had been agreed when it was introduced and were equitable. The Court recommended applying the pro-rata principle to public holidays as well as annual leave.
