In 1995, the Labour Court rejected Manufacturing, Science, Finance's claim to upgrade six Regional Managers at Forbairt, but recommended that Forbairt Management agree to their retaining the title and discuss their duties with them. The Court said no action had been taken to progress the promotion case and success was not guaranteed. Its recommendation was signed on 8 December 1995. Manufacturing, Science, Finance said senior EOLAS management had agreed to upgrades that were not honoured. Management said a post at Principal Scientific Officer grade would have required open competition.
