The Labour Court recommended that Ardilaun House Hotel recognise the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union’s right to represent and negotiate for employees who belonged to it. The recommendation was signed on 25 September 1995. About 26 hotel workers joined the union in August 1995. The union had sought talks on workers’ pay and conditions, but management refused to meet it. Ardilaun House Hotel did not attend the Labour Court hearing.
