The Labour Court recommended that Manufacturing, Science, Finance accept Irish Life PLC’s proposals for a policy initiative affecting about 310 personal financial advisers. It also recommended raising decision fees from £1,500 to £1,600. The recommendation was signed on 29 September 1995. The union sought a three-year earnings guarantee, saying the changes would reduce some advisers’ commission. Irish Life said a guaranteed payment would more than compensate for lost commission. The Court said it would review the effect of the proposals on advisers’ earnings after two years and urged both sides to improve relations.
