In 1995, the Labour Court recommended that the workers accept the Mid Western Health Board's compensation offer in its dispute with the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union over lost premium earnings. The recommendation was signed on 5 September 1995. The transfer of 15 catering workers brought a new roster and the loss of 1.50 hours of premium pay. The union sought 30 days' pay in addition to twice the annual loss; the Board offered compensation for actual loss under the Castlerea formula. The Court found no grounds to concede the union's claim and recommended acceptance of the Health Board's offer.
