The Labour Court recommended that the Central Fisheries Board use a crew of four fisheries staff on its patrol boat, except when management considered three adequate. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union was to be informed and given reasons in those cases. The recommendation was signed on 30 August 1995. For time off in lieu, the Court recommended that the union accept the Board’s final proposals, which included credit based on a 15/16-hour working day while on patrol, with time off after patrol and during winter. It also recommended that both sides review operations in January 1996, with a management representative going aboard to study them.
