The Labour Court did not recommend conceding the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union’s claim against the Central And Regional Fisheries Boards for retrospective parity pay for five assistant inspectors. The recommendation was signed on 30 August 1995. The workers sought the 6% increase from the start of their service acting as inspectors, rather than from their formal appointments. The Boards said they had received extra increments on promotion in recognition of that earlier service. The Court considered the background and their assimilation into the inspector grade before declining to recommend that the claim be conceded.
