The Labour Court recommended that Piercan Ireland Limited recognise the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union for negotiations on behalf of its members. The recommendation was signed on 11 August 1995. The company, which employed 62 people at its Kenmare plant, said it preferred direct dealings with staff and had an employee representative committee. The union said recognition would support good industrial relations.
