In 1995, the Labour Court did not recommend any change to Dwans’ redundancy package. The recommendation was signed on 10 July 1995. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union argued that two weekly allowances, £2.55 for disturbance and £6.55 for punctuality, should have been included in basic pay. The company’s package offered four weeks’ basic pay per service year, including statutory entitlements, plus £500 goodwill payment.
