The Labour Court recommended that Milford Foods Limited offer two former employees enhanced redundancy payments calculated at 1.50 weeks' pay per year of service, less amounts already paid. The recommendation was signed on 12 October 1994. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union sought enhanced payments under a 1989 agreement, which it said provided £360 per year of service. Milford Foods Limited said the agreement applied to mill operatives and cited its trading history. By agreement, the Court considered only the enhanced redundancy claim; the separate PNR and PESP pay claims were outside the issue it decided.
