In 1994, the Labour Court recommended reinstating two apprentices dismissed by Curragh Tintawn Carpets Limited during a 1993 rationalisation programme. The recommendation, dated 23 August 1994, said the company had not followed the required procedures. The Court recommended reinstatement from the dismissal date and arrangements with FAS for the elapsed period. The Technical Engineering And Electrical Union had sought reinstatement, back wages and completion of the apprenticeships. The company cited financial problems and said reinstatement was not possible.
