The Labour Court recommended that Blindcraft pay workers represented by the National League Of The Blind Of Ireland at the Eastern Health Board general operative grade. The recommendation was signed on 24 June 1994, and the scale should apply from 1 September 1990. The Court found merit in the union’s claim to end Blindcraft’s two-tier wage structure. The timing of phasing in the new scale and any retrospective payments were left for further negotiations between the parties.
