In 1994, the Labour Court recommended a new salary-scale placement for two Coombe Hospital workers who had moved into telephonist/attendant posts. The recommendation was signed on 21 June 1994. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union sought credit for the workers’ previous service and experience. The hospital said its practice was to move staff to the nearest point above their existing scale point. The Court recommended placing the workers at the nearest point on the telephonist/attendant scale that was not below their previous point, plus one increment.
