The Labour Court recommended that the Amalgamated Transport and General Worker’s Union accept Waterford Crystal Limited’s position that workers in the Irish Life No. 1 Fund should not receive the additional Christmas bonus sought for 1993. The Court said the earlier bonus increase was intended to cushion income losses caused by the 1993 agreement, which did not affect those workers. The company undertook to apply the bonus increase to workers covered by the Irish Life No. 2 Fund, and the Court considered that equitable. The recommendation was signed on 9 May 1994.
