Labour Court recommends Irish Cement recognise Manufacturing Science Finance

The Labour Court recommended that Irish Cement Limited extend recognition and negotiating rights to Manufacturing Science Finance for the 14 clerical and technical workers who had joined the union. The arrangement was to avoid additional negotiations with the clerical group. The Court cited the fact that most workers in the category had joined the union with another union’s agreement. Manufacturing Science Finance had agreed to be bound by the recommendation, which was signed on 6 May 1994.
