Labour Court recommends staffing assessment at Coca Cola Atlantic

By Cathal Brosnan

Historic decision · Decision date:

Place: no local area assigned from the source.

The Labour Court recommended an independent assessment of staffing on Coca Cola Atlantic’s filling lines before its cost and productivity plan proceeded. The recommendation was dated 26 April 1994. Coca Cola Atlantic proposed four crews of five workers, while the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union sought two crews of five and two of six. The Court recommended an agreed independent assessor, with the union’s industrial engineer able to participate. The assessment was to consider employees’ concerns, and its findings were to be trialled for six months. The rest of the plan, which the parties had agreed on in most respects, was to proceed.
