In 1993, the Labour Court recommended that Gleneagle Hotel recognise the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union for its members and allow them to be represented in negotiations on pay and conditions. The recommendation was dated 24 June. The union sought recognition for all its members. The hotel said the union did not represent a significant number of staff and that discussions were under way about forming a staff association. The Court recommended recognition for union members in the hotel and representation in negotiations on pay and conditions.
