In 1993, the Labour Court recommended an independent assessment of a regrading claim affecting 13 service personnel at Kerry Ingredients Limited. The recommendation was dated 21 June. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union sought access for its own engineer to assess proposed work changes and the regrading claim. Kerry Ingredients was willing to have an independent assessment but refused access to the union's engineer. The Court recommended appointing an Industrial Engineer from the Irish Productivity Centre and giving the report to the union to discuss with its own engineer.
