In 1993, the Labour Court recommended that Premier Periclase Limited and the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union and Amalgamated Transport and General Workers' Union resume negotiations over a 3% pay claim under the P.E.S.P. The Court said the company could seek reciprocal benefits roughly equivalent to the increase and recommended that talks take full account of the company's counterclaim. It said the proposals were not invalidated because they had featured in an earlier arrangement that did not take effect. The recommendation was dated 22 April 1993.
