In 1993, the Labour Court recommended that Jupiter Transport Limited recognise the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union and negotiate with it on workplace issues. The recommendation was dated 26 March 1993. The union sought representation for workers on pay and conditions. Jupiter Transport, a small haulage firm employing five drivers including its owner, said it dealt directly with staff and considered its pay and conditions favourable against comparable firms. The Court recommended that later union claims follow normal procedures, with a further reference to the Court if needed.
