In 1993, the Labour Court recommended that Dublin Corporation restore one paid privilege day for library attendants, mobile library van drivers and cleaners, replacing its compensation offer. The day was to apply from 1993 and only to Library Services. The Irish Municipal, Public and Civil Trade Union and the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union had sought restoration of two days withdrawn in 1990. The Court said exceptional circumstances in the Library Services merited special consideration. Its recommendation was signed on 12 March 1993.
