In 1993, the Labour Court recommended severance terms of three weeks per year of service, plus statutory entitlements, for workers covered by a dispute between Securicor (Ireland) Limited and the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union. Part-time workers were to receive pro-rata payments. The union had sought six weeks’ pay per service year, while the company said it could not increase its existing formula. The recommendation was signed on 15 March 1993.
