The Labour Court recommended that International Contract Cleaners implement the second phase of the Programme for Economic and Social Progress from its due date, 1 June 1992. The recommendation was signed on 14 January 1993. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union said the workers were entitled to the increase from that date. The company had planned to apply it from 1 January 1993 after renegotiating its Irish Rail contract, but the Court said it found no sustainable grounds for not implementing the agreement’s terms.
