In its recommendation dated 13 October 1992, the Labour Court said Tribuna Taverns Limited (Searsons) should pay a barperson full pay from 2 June to the date of the recommendation, plus £250 compensation. The Court condemned the employer’s failure to protect him from intimidation and abuse by a staff member in a position of authority. The worker said his former manager ordered him to leave the pub and that he was later dismissed. The company said he had collected his wages and given notice. The Court said he lost his employment through no fault of his own.
