In 1992, the Labour Court recommended that Leaf Limited recognise the Sales Marketing And Administrative Union Of Ireland and negotiate with it on behalf of its members. The union sought recognition for some of the company's six sales staff. Leaf Limited said its direct communication and grievance arrangements served the sales team. The union had agreed to be bound by the recommendation. The Court's recommendation was signed on 31 August 1992.
