The Labour Court recommended a 3% increase under the Programme for Economic and Social Progress for Kilkenny College's domestic and outdoor staff, from the earliest due date. It did not recommend a £10 weekly basic pay increase or weekend premiums, and called for immediate talks on sick leave and pension claims. The recommendation was signed on 6 August 1992. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union had sought higher basic pay, Saturday and Sunday premiums, and sick pay and pension schemes. The Court said the pay rates had been agreed in 1989 and the requested wage and premium increases were cost-increasing.
