The Labour Court recommended that Bord Na Mona pay for two weeks in the 1991 season to seasonal workers at Oweninny Works, and that the company's proposals apply in later years. The recommendation was signed on 17 August 1992. The Amalgamated Transport And General Workers Union had sought compensation after poor weather delayed completion of the workers' 13-week season until mid-September 1991, causing some to lose social welfare entitlements. It opposed Bord Na Mona's proposed change to the annual schedule. The Court also suggested the parties consider representations to address anomalies in social welfare payments.
