In 1992, the Labour Court did not recommend extending Irish Shell Limited's discretionary loan scheme. It considered the company's private mileage rate reasonable and recommended talks on future pay adjustments after P.E.S.P. ended. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union sought wider access to loans, higher mileage payments and a changed P.E.S.P. timetable. The Court's recommendation was signed on 9 September 1992.
