In 1992, the Labour Court did not recommend concession of the Irish Municipal Public And Civil Trade Union’s claim for an information technology allowance for Local Government Computer Services Board staff. The recommendation was dated 13 May 1992. The union said 35 employees met the criteria for the allowance paid to some civil servants. The Board argued the circumstances behind that allowance did not apply to its workforce. The Court found the claimants did not qualify under the scheme’s conditions.
