In 1992, the Labour Court recommended new incremental pay scales for Irish National Heritage Park staff, effective from 1 January 1992, linked to comparable Office of Public Works roles. The recommendation was dated 8 May 1992. The Irish Municipal Public And Civil Trade Union also sought year-round employment through the Park’s winter closure. The Court did not recommend that claim because the Park closed from November to March. The Park said it operated seasonally and disputed the union’s proposed pay comparison.
