Labour Court recommends £1,800 for unfairly dismissed Abc Workwear sales representative

In 1991, the Labour Court found that a sales representative was unfairly dismissed by Abc Workwear, trading as Clio Forde Careerwear, and dismissed without adequate notice. It recommended £1,800 in full and final settlement of her claim. The recommendation was dated 28 November 1991. The worker said the company had misrepresented the salary and conditions when she left a well-paid job to join as a sales representative. The Court found she had been misled about the company's status, capacity and organisation, and that poor performance could not reasonably or fairly justify her dismissal. The company did not attend the hearing or submit evidence.
