Labour Court rejects regrading claim for St. Michael's House nurse

In 1991, the Labour Court did not recommend a union claim to regrade a Nurse-in-Charge at St. Michael's House to Head of Unit level and the matron salary scale. Manufacturing Science Finance argued that the worker performed the previous post-holder's duties and had taken on more responsibilities. Management said the role's responsibilities had changed and diminished. The Court found the available grading criteria were the only reasonably objective ones in the circumstances, and that the previous post-holder's higher grade was personal to that worker. It signed the recommendation on 8 April 1991.
