In 1991, the Labour Court did not recommend the unions' claim to regrade Dublin County Council storemen, finding they had not established pay parity with Dublin Corporation storekeepers. The Local Government and Public Services Union and the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union argued that the storemen's work and historical pay relationship supported regrading. The Council disputed that parity existed and said the duties did not justify adopting the Corporation's structure. The Court said no substantive evidence supported the claimed parity and noted that some claimant groups had previously secured a separate pay relationship with Council gangers. It signed the recommendation on 5 April 1991.
