In 1991, the Labour Court recommended that An Post re-engage a dismissed worker, with a final warning that any recurrence of absenteeism would lead to termination. The recommendation was dated 4 April 1991.
The worker had been dismissed over his sick absence record. The Court said he had made little effort to resolve his problems and had not cooperated with the available support programme, but recommended re-engagement in light of his circumstances at the time.
