In 1990, the Labour Court did not recommend that Aer Rianta hire two replacement plumbers. It said the claim should be considered alongside a further claim the company was examining on new manning levels. The recommendation was signed on 30 May 1990. The Electrical Electronic Telecommunication And Plumbing Union argued that growing airport activity had increased maintenance work. Aer Rianta said the two positions were not needed and that staffing levels were a management matter.
