The Labour Court recommended that O’Connor’s (Abbey Street) Limited increase redundancy terms offered to seven workers to six times their statutory entitlements, inclusive of the statutory entitlement. The recommendation was signed on 21 March 1990. The Irish Distributive And Administrative Trade Union had sought enhanced redundancy compensation. The Court also recommended that compensation be calculated using revised rates applying from 1 October 1989, with workers receiving the benefit of any increases for service after that date.
