In 1990, the Labour Court found the claim to upgrade two workers' posts at Telectron Na Farraige Moire Teoranta was not sustainable and did not recommend conceding the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union's claim. The recommendation was signed on 26 April 1990. The union sought to upgrade the posts to quality control chargehand after the workers took on additional duties following the combination of departments. Telectron Na Farraige Moire Teoranta said the claim was cost-increasing and that the roles were not comparable to quality control chargehands.
