The Labour Court recommended that Vita Cortex Limited pay qualifying band knife operators at its Navan plant the same allowance as at the Dublin plant, from 1 July 1990. The recommendation was signed on 15 February 1990. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union said the operators should receive the allowance, which was £7.57 a week at the Dublin plant. Vita Cortex cited falling sales, increased losses and a difficult trading position.
