The Labour Court declined to recommend a higher pay scale for three general operatives in University College Cork’s maintenance department. The recommendation was signed on 13 February 1990. The Services, Industrial, Professional, Technical Union sought to renegotiate a 1981 agreement, citing additional duties and a pay difference between the three workers and other general operatives. The Court said that agreement virtually guaranteed the continuing difference and found insufficient grounds to recommend the claim.
